Paint is an important aspect of your home’s appearance. It can do wonders for your feel and overall look of your house. But how do you know if it’s time? The best way to tell is by looking at these signs:
1) Cracks In The Walls Or Ceilings:
Cracks can be a sign that your walls have been shifting and settling over time. Look for cracks in ceilings or windows, as well as corners of the house where two different exterior elements meet (like brick to siding). Cracks will also appear around doors and windows if they aren’t installed properly.
2) Peeling Paint, Particularly Around Windows And Doors.
If your paint is peeling in windows and doors, it’s most likely because the house has shifted over time. Peeling will also happen around window sills if they weren’t sealed properly during installation.
3) Discoloration
If you’ve noticed that your walls have started to look a bit yellow or brown, it could be a sign that the paint is starting to wear off. This is often caused by moisture and can be difficult (and expensive) to fix.
4) If There Is A Growth Of Dirt And Mold
Mold and mildew can be a serious health hazard, so if you notice any growth on your walls it’s time for a new paint job. Mold will often start to grow in places where there is moisture, like around windows or in bathrooms.
