One of the worst things about controlling the current pandemic is that by the time scientists and researchers come up with strong medication and vaccination for the coronavirus a new variant is identified somewhere in the world. We first heard the name Omicron when a case was identified in South Africa. This forced many countries to put a ban on passengers traveling from the Southern part of the African province.

It was believed that South Africa was the epicenter of this new variant. Further research by Dutch scientists and researchers has given birth to speculations that the new variant may have originated in Europe or even if it wasn’t originated in Europe, it was here before it was identified in South Africa.

When the first case of omicron was identified, it was believed to be more dangerous than the Delta Variant. However further research has put such speculations to rest. There are still some people who believe it to be the deadliest variant to date. Some experts believe that more research has to be done on the variant to understand if it is actually as dangerous as it is speculated to be. The research that has been done till date show that the person suffering from the variant only shows mild symptoms however it is more transmissible than the delta variant.
